Rockstar Games - Compromised Account

If your Rockstar account was compromised by someone else and you have lost the ability to manage your account because your e-mail & password has been changed without your permission then you have come to the correct place.


The main purpose of this page is to present the facts to you straight, you are not the only person to have their account compromised and yes this happened to one of us at Host4You, sad but true. 

So we decided to check out whether or not the domain in question was still active or if it had expired and believe it or not, it was available to purchase in which we went ahead and purchased, configured it on our web server which has given us the option to create e-mails in order to initiate Account Recovery for Rockstar Games.

1. E-Mail Address Creation

We set-up an exact duplicate of the e-mail address on your RockStar Games account, and set-up an account on our server in which you then can access and begin the next step. Of course after you have completed your mission to getting your account back, simply request that the account be deleted and it will be removed to leave no trace of your information.

As we follow the Data Protection Act 2018 under UK laws, which means we as a data controller will keep your information confidential and shall not at any point expose this information any other person.


2. Request Password Recovery

As it says it the title, by having access to the e-mail you will be able to request a new password, providing Rockstar hasn't blacked listed the domain in which case you can still use it for communication.


3. Communication with Rockstar Support

Exactly how it sounds you will be able to reply to their e-mails directly from the account as a way of verification.


4. Prove Ownership of E-Mail

Rockstar will send you an e-mail for Password Recovery or Support E-mails, having the account shows them that no one other than you is in control of it.

 

How does any of the above help me?

Simple, we managed to contact the team at Rockstar as a way of recovering our account but there are other factors at play so please keep that in mind.

You may have XBox, PSN, Amazon, Facebook connected to your account which has given you partial access but unable to login to your PC launcher or directly to the website because you don't have access to the e-mail or know the password, well having partial access is what we need in order to again prove ownership which we can go even further.

What Type of Proof do I need?

We can help with this, but we need a few additional pieces of information first. Please provide us with the following information:
 

  1. Screenshot of the game purchase receipt received in your email account showing the date and amount of purchase.
  2. Screenshot showing you logged into Steam, with your Steam Profile name and Steam ID64.
  3. The Steam ID64 typed into the text body of the request.
    • Sign in to Steam
    • Click on your Steam Profile name at the top right corner of the window and select "Account Details.
    • Take a screenshot showing your Steam Profile and Steam ID64 clearly visible on the screen
    • Copy and paste the Steam ID64 in your reply
  4. If you received an error message when redeeming the code, please include the exact error message.
     

The below information request is applicable if you own Grand Theft Auto V.
 

  1. Screenshot of the Steam CD Key window clearly displaying the code.
  2. The activation serial key typed into the text body of the request.
    • Right-click on the game in your Steam Library, select "Manage" and select "CD keys"
    • Take a screenshot showing your Steam Profile and CD Key clearly visible on the screen
    • Copy and paste the CD Key in your reply

What proof did we provide?

  1. Social Club - Rockstar Games Account - Settings - Link Account (If you have Facebook / Amazon it should show your name, perfect and if it has XBox or PSN it will show your in-game Username again Perfect)
  2. Social Club E-Mal show you linked Facebook or Amazon, it will contain your actual name.
  3. Steam Purchase Receipt mentioning Grand Theft Auto 5, should contain price and confirmation number.
  4. Steam Library - Click GTA 5, this proves it is part of your account, it will show your display name in upper right, doesn't help much but could be useful.
  5. Steam Library - Right click GTA 5 - Manage - CD Key = This will show your key for the game, if it doesn't show you may need to Verify Integrity to fix this.
  6. Steam - Home > Recent Purchases > Grand Theft Auto V - This will show your transaction while in Steam (USeful)
  7. Steam Licenses - If you can find this page in Steam find, GTA V (All this does is show that you have a license, nothing more but might be helpful)
  8. Steam - Home > Account (You will need to show your accounts page, it contains your SteamID, this is extremely important, it will also contain your Email address you use for Rockstar providing it is the same.)
  9. Steam Account History - Find GTA V, it will show how you paid for it, how much.

  11. XBOX or PSN Profile page containing your real name and Online ID if it is similar to Rockstar - PSN was used in our case.


If your able to, do another screenshot with you e-mail steam receipt and Steam Library are side by side so it shows you owning it and purchasing it, your username is mentioned in one go.

One last bit of proof but you find it hard to shallow.

Provide either your Passport or Drivers Licence, have one image of the ID and one image of you holding it, this proves no other person has your ID other than you.

Our solution was to use the Passport.

 

You may need to break the above in to many ticket replies as there is a 10 image upload limit per reply.

If all goes well, you may get a reply asking for more information or the next step might verifying ownership of your e-mail account, this might involve replying to a ticket from the e-mail instead. They may ask you click a link for confirmation, what ever the case maybe you have given enough proof.

 

How to begin the process

  1. Visit https://support.rockstargames.com
  2. Login via alternative Account - XBOX, PSN, Amazon, Facebook
  3. Select the 3 Lines on the top left
  4. Submit a Ticket
  5. Grand Theft Auto V
  6. Online Play
  7. Can't Login
  8. PC
  9. Compromised Account
  10. Email (DO NOT USE EMAIL@TAYLORSGEN.XYZ) You must use the e-mail you want to receive your password setup and tickets.
  11. Enter Social Club Nickname for PC


Under description start telling them about your situation, tell them that someone has compromised your account, changed the e-mail (Provide the @Taylorsgen.xyz email) and that they have also changed your password.

The only reason you found out is when you tried to login via your email login but had to connect using the alternative method XBOX or PSN etc.  Tell them your willing provide what ever proof they need, simply be confident but do it nicely.

Upload a few screenshots and then submit then follow up with the other screenshots and repeat until they have all been sent.

Make them aware that you have FULL Control of the EMAIL@TAYLORSGEN.XYZ so no matter where they send the e-mail you can verify on either.


What happens next?

Providing you now have access to your account, you will no longer have any use for the email@taylorsgen.xyz which means you will need to let us know right away you no longer require it, we shall then delete it from our systems as per Data Protection Act 2018.
